Immerse yourself in the peace of the Tuscan woods at a quiet farmhouse aptly named “Borgo Castagnoli” for the many chestnut trees that grow around the property (“castagno” is Italian for chestnut tree, and “castagna” for its fruit). In early October, the chestnuts start falling to the ground ready for collecting, roasting and devouring!
Set on a hillside at about 2,200 ft., the early autumn is cool and bright. Let the peace of the place calm your spirit and the soft fall colors recharge you. WHEN:
Sunday, October 4th through Thursday October 8th, 2015
We will pick you up in Florence on Sunday afternoon, October 4th to arrive at Castagnoli in time to unpack and meet for an “aperitivo” and dinner in the villa (aka the main house).
After lunch on Thursday, October 8th we will take you back to Florence.*
WHERE: This interactive map will let you see exactly where the property is located, at the edge of Torsoli, about 12 km from Greve in the heart of the Chianti region of Tuscany. Situated midway between Florence and Sienna (you can reach either city in about 45 minutes by car), we are close to the main tourism routes, but a world away.
WHAT is included?
· Four nights lodging
· All meals during the retreat:
o “Aperitivo” and ,dinner Sunday evening
o All meals on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday
(including wine, of course, we are in the Chianti!)
o Breakfast and lunch on Thursday.
· Transfers Florence . . . Castagnoli . . . Florence on Sunday and Thursday
· All materials and activities
· Plenty of peace and free time!
· Advice for touring in Florence and Tuscany before and/or after the retreat
For a small supplement, you are welcome to stay on Thursday and Friday nights after the retreat*
WHO: participation on this retreat will be limited to six people
HOW MUCH:
$600.00 deposit at booking
+ $1275 "early bird" price if paid in full by September 4th (total final cost $1875)
or
+ $1375 after September 5th (total final cost $1975)
Cancellation policy**:
Refund of amount paid minus $300.00 cancellation fee if cancelled before September 19th
Refund of amount paid minus $987.50 cancellation fee if cancelled after September 19th and before October 1st
Non-refundable if cancelled on or after October 1st
* If you would like to stay on at Castagnoli Thursday and Friday after the retreat, you are welcome to stay for a small supplement of $75.00 per night, including all meals and a transfer to Florence on Friday or Saturday morning after breakfast.
**In lieu of requesting a refund if you have to cancel, you can apply the full amount paid (less a $25.00 fee) towards the cost of a future retreat.
